That Sickle cell disease (SCD), or sickle cell anemia is a major genetic disease that affects most countries in Africa.

In the region, majority of childern with severe cases of sickle cell anemia, die before the age of five(5years) mostly from an infection or severe blood lost.

Smile scikle cell foundation is helping millions in the fight to prevent the avoidable death and providing succor to sickle cell anemia patients.

On the 26th of June 2008 , miss Ndukwe Jennifer a Youth Corps member Serving with the central bank of Nigeria , Abuja initiated the construction of the sickle cell clinic, located at Karu village, a rural community in Abuja.

The Army day Secondary school Asokoro was established by the Nigerian army to provide quality education to the children and wards of serving and retired army personnel in the FCT at an affordable rate. On the 19th of august 2016, youth corps member Ndukwe Jennifer driven by her passion to put an end to the scourge of the Sickle cell disease took her campaign to the students of the renowned ADSS Asokoro.
